The majestic USS New Jersey first slid into waters of the Delaware River at its launching on December 7, 1942. Much has happened in the half century that has passed since then. The Battleship became the most decorated in history. The Philadelphia/Camden riverfront has grown from an important center of commerce and ship building to one of the world's biggest deepwater ports, complemented by a vibrant tourism trade. And now, the time has come for the ship to be returned to her home port in the Delaware.
